Dennis Fultz

Dennis Fultz took a drive to the top of Buffalo Ridge, which is about 30 minutes from his home in Tracy, Minn., and examined one of the first wind farms in the state of Minnesota, and he wondered if his farm had just as strong a wind as they had on top of the ridge. His next steps were finding the right connections for his idea and for the wind. This led him to the Goeman brothers and neighbor John Nelson; and thus, the creation of Outland.
Dennis is an idealist, but he also has the practical fortitude to take his dream and turn it into reality. Because Dennis is a consensus builder, he knows how to get the right people together to go from concept to completion. Dennis’ grassroots and rural Minnesota mentality have allowed Outland to grow into a wind-energy powerhouse. “I know having a mutually respectful relationship with landowners is critical to our success,” said Dennis Fultz. I know how landowners think and expect to be treated.” It is not the financial awards that drive Dennis; rather it is the potential of clean energy for his community. Dennis has always pushed for increased economic development in Southwestern Minnesota. “I see a world of possibilities for Minnesota and not just in wind, but I also envision growth in other types renewable energy such as solar and hydrogen,” Dennis added. Dennis and his wife Linda have two children, Jayson and Jennifer. Dennis has farmed for thirty-seven years with his father and brothers. His son Jayson has recently returned to the family farm. Dennis has degrees in soil science and agricultural economics from the University of Minnesota. Dennis has served on the following organizations: the board of directors of Minnesota Corn Processors, deacon and trustee of the Tracy Lutheran Church, Tracy School Board, the Pork Producer Board, and the Soil and Water Conservation Board. Dennis’ motto: The sum is greater than the parts. In other words, it is better to work together than work alone. |
