Outland Establishes National Training Center

CANBY, Minn. (October 20, 2008) Outland Renewable Energy, LLC (Outland) announced today that it has established a national training center where all wind turbine technician safety and technical training will be administered. The five year facilities use agreement with Minneapolis based Wind Energy America gives Outland exclusive access to two Gamesa G52 850kW turbines and shop space located at the Midwest Center for Wind Energy (MCWE) which is located 25 miles from Outland’s Canby operations office.

“As we’ve grown from a handful of technicians to a team of more than 100, the need for a dedicated technician training center has grown as well,” commented Steve Scott, Outland’s chief operating officer. “Our agreement with Wind Energy America satisfies this need and will help ensure we remain a benchmark for safety and efficiency in the US wind industry for many years to come.”

Todd Erickson, Outland’s EHS Manager added, “To have a facility of this caliber as our national training campus is a dream come true. There is no other facility in the US with turbines, shop area, housing, offices and class room space all in one location. We couldn’t have designed a better facility ourselves.”
